New auction deployment Red2 is happy to have been selected as the provider of auction technology for AMG. The auction system is being used with a points based model, replacing currency. Bidders are able to bid using allocated points for specific items. This is a closed B2B auction environment, and is amongst the first of our customers to fully utilize the new Auction v2 technology.

Patrizzi auction raises 2.7 million Euros Red2’s recent auction deployment for the antique watch auctioneer Patrizzi Auctioneers went live with their recent auction in Milan. 98% of the 113 lots sold for a hammer price of 2.7 million. Red2 Auction is used to manage the floor, written, telephone and real time online bidding. Large screen displays through the auction venue enabled observers and bidders to keep informed throughout the auction.

Riviera Travel site goes live Red2 is happy to announce that the Riviera Travel site is now live. Riviera travel uses the Babel reservation system and is integrated on the front-end by red2. The red2 development enhances the reservation system and provides an enriched online experience in a similar way to Travelink integrations. Reservation systems provide the back-office inventory and ticketing, with the red2 development providing the web-friendly booking journey and enhanced content.

Red2 is providing the technology for NMOLP Museums’ social media initiative; shaping the future of museums online Red2 is working with Milo Creative on a social networking site for the V&A, Tate, British Museum, Imperial War Museum and Natural History Museum amongst other leading institutions. Creative Journeys (working title) is an online social media initiative that aims to provide its audience with unified access to the vastness of these nine digital collections. It also aims to provide inspiration to long life learners, acting as a catalyst for their own research and learning by providing online creation tools.
Red2 has been chosen to provide the highly-evolved underlying technology framework. The project is a distributed social networking solution, which is to be deployed on a wide variety of different operating systems and platforms. This project is ideally suited to the iterative nature of our development approach and is aligned with our reputation for delivering complex but robust software engineering for a wide variety of purposes.

Red2 announces new car hire site Red2 announce a new car hire website - the first standalone project by red2. The site demonstrates the use of red2's dynamic packaging system (the Dynamic Feed Engine) for car hire support as well as showcasing design and marketing by the newly created red2agency. Launch of the site is due shortly.

Rock Insurance selects red2 Red2 expands the reach of its travel development expertise with the introduction of Rock Insurance as a client. Formed in 2001, Rock Insurance is a multi-million-pound travel insurance intermediary and is continuing to grow fast. Rock provides travel insurance via a customer-facing website, b2b sites and web service models. Red2 are working with Rock to deliver the end-to-end solution, including the back office and full spread of web-based transaction sites.

Red2 announces new faces and red2Agency Red2 is happy to add some new faces to work in our new design department. We have traditionally outsourced our creative, but have made the decision to bring talent in-house. This allows for a more rounded offering and is part of our longer term strategy which will see the introduction of a new business unit red2Agency.
Carien Otto, who joins red2 as our new Senior Designer, has worked previously for a wide range of e-commerce and online projects. Carien brings 9 years of design expertise as well as user experience and branding knowledge. Carien joins us from livedrive.com, and previous to that Blue Square.
Robin Allport, who joins red2 as our Senior Front-end Web Developer, has worked previously in the financial sector at NatWest Global Financial Markets, Royal Bank of Scotland and Credit Suisse First Boston. After that he worked in the media sector at Image.net, leading the front-end development of a complex digital asset management system, this was bought out by Getty Images, where he worked for another 3 years.

Guardianholidayoffers.co.uk goes live We have been working with The Guardian to develop a reader offers site, guardianholidayoffers.co.uk, which soft-launched last week. This site uses our Dynamic Feed Engine to take information from many holiday suppliers and allows it to be searched and booked using a single site (dynamic packaging). The site uses XML and web services to normalise data and provide a transparent, engaging experience for the user.

Idaho Center work starts Red2 today announce an extension to our Red2 Auction system to support ticket-based auctions. Ticket auctions differ from normal auctions since lots “cascade” with the highest bidder in the most prominent seats, second highest in the next set of seats and so on. This results in multiple winners of a single lot. Our first deployment is for the US venue Idaho Center. Red2 continues to expand its auction platform providing an extensible industry standard .NET solution for a wide variety of different vertical markets.

This exciting website uses Red2 Site Service technology to screen-scrape eBay in real-time, making bids on behalf of users. Red2 Site Service can be used as either an offline site-scraping technology (to collect data) or, as in this case, to drive real-time web interactions.

This is the second project for Cobweb in recent months and is for internal use within their expanding organisation. New Data Centre for 2008 Red2 announces plans for a new hosting platform in the New Year. We have seen a big increase in the number of companies who prefer our managed service approach. By providing a 360-degree service we are able to scale solutions on behalf of our customers and reduce costs by maintaining shared infrastructure. The new data centre will give us immediate additional capacity and provide for further planned growth in 2008.

New travel site Travel Editions uses Red2 technology to augment data stored
in their Travelink back office system, as well as drive the online
experience. Back office travel booking systems are not designed to deal with
online interactions or to manage site, tour and hotel content at a site level
(for example photographs, customer friendly descriptions, offer management and so
on). Red2’s travel experience and suite of readymade site building blocks are
combined to provide engaging, successful, online travel offerings.
